Norwalk Man Forgot His Infant Child In the Car As He Shopped, Cops Say
The man allegedly left his infant daughter inside the car while he shopped at Wal-Mart.

A Norwalk man has been charged after he told police he forgot his infant daughter in the backseat of his car as he shopped at Wal-Mart Sunday night, the Norwalk Hour reports.
Police say Brian Healy, 37, of Glendenning Street, left his less than 12-month-old daughter sleeping in her carseat while he shopped at the 650 Main Avenue Wal-Mart around 8 p.m., the Hour reports.
A bystander noticed the infant sleeping, and waited at the car for 10 minutes before calling police. When police arrived the windows were rolled up and police were opening the car when Healy ran over and said he forgot his child, the Hour reports.

A Ridgefield mother began a blog recently to raise awareness to the seeming epidemic of children being left in hot parked cars this summer. Lindsey Rogers-Seitz began the blog in the wake of the tragic death of her 15-month-old son Benjamin.
Young Benjamin Seitz passed away on July 7 after being forgotten in the backseat of the car for the better part of a day while his father, Kyle Seitz, was at work. The state medical examiner ruled the death a homicide and Ridgefield police have yet to make a final decision on whether charges will be filed.
