The Norwalk Police Department has announced two officers of the month for March 2026.
NORWALK, CT — The Norwalk Police Department has announced two new officers of the month.
In two separate Facebook posts Tuesday and Wednesday, police said officers Konstantine Arvanitakis and Richard Holmes were both selected as officers of the month for March 2026.
According to the department, Arvanitakis was selected "for his proactive police work leading to the arrest of an individual in possession of a stolen firearm during a traffic stop."

Police said Arvanitakis spotted a Jeep Grand Cherokee with an improper printed temporary registration plate traveling westbound on Westport Avenue on March 2.
After the driver made several evasive maneuvers, Arvanitakis stopped the vehicle and found the driver had a suspended license and the vehicle was unregistered and uninsured, according to police.

After further investigation, Arvanitakis found a loaded 9mm magazine in the back passenger area and a Taurus G2C 9mm handgun in the trunk, according to police.
The firearm was loaded with fifteen rounds of 9mm ammunition and later confirmed to have been reported stolen out of Columbus, Ohio, police said.
The driver was found to be the subject of two active orders of protection prohibiting the possession of firearms and was arrested, according to police.
"Officer Arvanitakis's awareness and proactive policing led to the safe recovery of a stolen firearm and the arrest of the suspect, helping to keep illegal weapons off our streets," police wrote on Facebook.
According to police, Holmes was selected for his actions while assigned as a task force officer with the United States Marshals Connecticut Violent Fugitive Task Force last month.
Police said Holmes and task force members conducted an operation to apprehend a man wanted on an active arrest warrant for murder out of New York on March 13.
According to the department, officers found the wanted man inside a Waterbury residence with two young juveniles.
During the incident, the man brought the juveniles onto the porch while officers were attempting to have him surrender, police said.
At one point, the man reentered the home and left the juveniles outside, police said.
"Officer Holmes immediately positioned himself between the suspect and the juveniles, allowing other officers to safely move the children away from the area," police wrote on Facebook.
The man was then arrested, according to police.
"Officer Holmes's initiative, quick thinking and leadership helped ensure the safety of the juveniles and contributed to the successful apprehension of a dangerous fugitive without the use of force and without injury," the department said in the post. "The Norwalk Police Department commends Officer Holmes for his outstanding work and continued dedication to public safety."
