Norwalk Republicans Want You

The Norwalk Republican Town Committee (RTC) would like to get you more involved. They are inviting the public to a special open house on Jan. 24 to meet members of the executive committee and district leaders. The RTC has hosted events like this previously, and the result has been positive. Monday is the RTC's normally scheduled meeting, which takes place at the Norwalk Inn. The open house is from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. and is followed by the regular meeting.

 “We understand that some people are curious about the Norwalk Republican Town Committee and may want to get involved, but may not know the process or believe that they cannot attend a meeting if they are not a member," Norwalk RTC Chairman Art Scialabba said in a statement.

2011 is a municipal election year, with the mayor and council seats all up for election. In December, Mayor Richard Moccia announced that he was running for re-election. The rest of the Republican slate for council candidates has not been announced. The mayor has stated in the past he did not want to see controversial council member Nick Kydes, back as a common council candidate.
