Norwalk Resident Gets Jail Time in Student Sex Case
Danielle Watkins received a jail sentence for her sexual liaisons with a student while she was a Stamford High School teacher.

A Norwalk resident who is the former Stamford High School English teacher arrested on sex assault charges for her months-long sexual relationship with a student has been sentenced to jail.
In state Superior Court in Stamford on Wednesday, Danielle Watkins, 33, of Norwalk, was ordered to serve five years in jail with five years suspended, 15 years probation, register with the sex offender registry for 10 years and was banned from contacting her victims until 2030, according to The Advocate.
Watkins was charged with two counts each of second-degree sexual assault and sale of marijuana. Watkins was arrested July 17on accusations that in June she threatened to fail a former student, who’s now 18, if he didn’t continue their sexual liaisons. She was accused of meeting the student for trysts in her car during the school day, but not on school property.

She also faced a marijuana possession charge for allegedly providing the student and a 15-year-old student with pot that they smoked both on and off school property.
Watkins has been in custody at the Niantic Correctional Center since her arrest on Jan. 9 on charges harassment and violating terms of her release after the 15-year-old reported to Stamford Police that she intimidated him when they saw one another at the Dunkin’ Donuts shop a block away from Stamford High.
