“Salute Norwalk Day” also lets Norwalk’s citizenry enjoy their hometown IMAX movie theater, whose six-story screen is the largest in Connecticut. Additionally on Sept. 16, as part of the regular demonstrations each Thursday, Saturday and Sunday, scuba divers will be in among the Aquarium’s big sharks at 12:15 and 2:15 p.m., presenting a program that dispels some of the common misperceptions about sharks. And, special just for “Salute Norwalk Day,” the seal-training demonstrations at 11:45 a.m. and 1:45 and 3:45 p.m. will be narrated in both English and Spanish. “Salute Norwalk Day” is just one of many contributions The Maritime Aquarium makes to Norwalk and its citizens. The Aquarium offers dozens of educational programs and other marine- science opportunities that supplement the education of Norwalk's students, sometimes at no cost to the schools. And the Aquarium and its 500,000 visitors inject more than $20 million annually
into Norwalk's economy.
