Norwalk Public Schools Announce Inaugural Community Service Scholarship

Seniors from all four of the city's high schools can be considered for this $5,000 scholarship if they meet the eligibility criteria.

NORWALK, CT — Norwalk Public Schools announced this week a new scholarship opportunity for high school seniors throughout the city.

In a Facebook post Wednesday, district officials said the inaugural Kevin M. Eidt Norwalk Community Service Scholarship was established in collaboration with Mayor Harry Rilling's office and the Kevin M. Eidt Memorial Scholarship Fund.

Seniors from all four of the city's high schools can be considered for the $5,000 scholarship if they meet the eligibility criteria, district officials said.

Each high school will establish its own process to identify the student to represent their school as a finalist for the scholarship, according to the district.

Each student selected to represent their school will be invited to submit an application to the Kevin M. Eidt Memorial Scholarship Fund in early March, with a May 1 submission deadline.

The recipient of the scholarship, determined by the selection committee, will be announced by the mayor's office or Norwalk Public Schools at a time and place yet to be announced, according to the district.
