Norwalk Teacher Accused Of Using Chokehold On Students Fired: Report
The Board of Education has terminated the contact of a teacher accused of demonstrating a chokehold on a student until they passed out.

NORWALK, CT — The Board of Education has terminated the contract of a Norwalk teacher accused of demonstrating a chokehold on a student until they were unconscious, The Norwalk Hour reports. Meeting minutes indicate the board voted unanimously to terminate the contract.
According to The Hour, a district spokesperson said Stefanie Sanabria, 50, of Danbury, initially submitted her resignation but later withdrew the request and chose to proceed with the termination process. She is next scheduled to appear in court in May.
Norwalk police announced last month Sanabria had been charged with second-degree strangulation, risk of injury to a minor and reckless endangerment following the Feb. 24 incident.
