Obituaries: Charlie & Louise Murray Of Norwalk
Charlie and his wife of 64 years, Louise, both passed away in October 2023; before moving to Norwalk, they were longtime residents of Maine.

Charles (Charlie) J. Murray Jr. passed away on October 6, 2023 at Norwalk Hospital. Born in Claremont, N.H., the only son of Charles and Viola Murray and the husband of his beloved wife Louise Murray of 64 years, who passed away on October 29, 2023.
He attended the University of New Hampshire and later Salem State College in Salem, MA, where he earned a degree in Business Management. As a young man, he worked in retail sales, which took him and his growing family to many cities in New England. After settling in Newton, MA he started his career as a technical recruiter.

Charlie and his wife Louise later moved to Raymond, ME where they lived for 35 years. He was very involved in the community and served as the head selectman for a period of time. He was an avid reader, loved cooking, classical music, dogs and the outdoors.
Charlie is survived by his daughter Martha Murray and son-in-law Jung-Hsin Yang, daughter Katherine Murray, daughter Bridget and son-in-law Brian Kane and his granddaughter Charlotte Kane.

Louise O. Murray passed away on October 29, 2023 at Norwalk Hospital. Born in Greenville, N.H. she was the daughter of Camille and Martha Bourgeois and was the wife of Charles J. Murray for 64 years.
She held an associates degree from Bryant College and later earned a B.A. in General Studies from Framingham State University. She held a variety of positions throughout her life and ended her working career as the director of financial aid for Andover College in Portland, ME.
Louise and her husband raised their family in Newton, MA and later moved to Raymond, ME where they lived for 35 years. She was very involved in the community and served as the registrar of voters for many years. She also volunteered at her library and cooked for the seniors at a local congregate meal site. She was an avid reader and knitter, loved classical music, dogs and the outdoors.
After moving to Norwalk, she was an active member of the Norwalk Senior Center.
Louise is survived by her brother Charles Bourgeois, daughter Martha Murray and son-in-law Jung-Hsin Yang, daughter Katherine Murray, daughter Bridget and son-in-law Brian Kane and granddaughter Charlotte Kane.
The family of Louise and Charlie will be making arrangements for a private memorial service at an appropriate time. Donations in Charlie's memory may be made to the Norwalk Public Library, and donations in Louise's name may be made to the library or the Norwalk Senior Center.
