Obituary: Alex 'Dick' Nosevich, 82, Of Norwalk

Alex was an excellent cook and replicated many recipes.

Alex "Dick" Nosevich, age 82, of Norwalk, died April 12, 2022 at his home. He was the loving husband of Despina (Debbie) Kyriakides Nosevich for 44 years.

Alex was born in Bridgeport, CT on January 27, 1940, the son of the late Paul and Eugenia (Penkoff). Brother Paul and stepfathers Andy Mayboand and John Dirga all preceded his passing.

After being honorably discharged, he was employed by the Sikorsky Division of United Aircraft. He obtained a degree in Electro-Mechanical Engineering from the Connecticut State Technical College system.

His military travel experience whetted his appetite for travel and he joined the Perkin-Elmer Corporation in 1966. He was hired specifically for the Stratoscope II project as an Engineering Aide, the forerunner to the Hubble Telescope!

Participating on assignments in support of the project, he traveled to Texas, Pennsylvania, and Louisiana. He was then assigned to the Microlithography program (Micralign) for the remainder of his thirty five year career with P-E, SVG and ASML. His job required extensive travel both domestically and internationally. As Director of Domestic and International Technical Support, he visited nineteen domestic states and fifteen European countries, Far Eastern and other locations.

Alex was an excellent cook and replicated many recipes. He enjoyed entertaining family and friends. He was a 61-year Master Mason and member of Washington Lodge #19 AF&AM, Monroe, CT, and a 32nd degree member of the Lafayette Consistory, Valley of Bridgeport. He also served as President of the (Perkin-Elmer) "Retiree Club" for over ten years.

In addition to his wife, Alex is survived by his children, Alex Nosevich of Northborough MA, Eugenia Tiano of Norwalk, CT, Paul Nosevich of Simsbury, CT and grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends may call on Tuesday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Collins Funeral Home, 92 East Avenue, Norwalk, CT. At 5 p.m., the Masons will perform the Masonic ritual.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the George Washington National Masonic Memorial, Alexandria, VA.
