Obituary: Elmer 'Gil' Giellman Of Norwalk

Elmer "Gil" Giellman of Norwalk, Connecticut died Friday, August 12, 2022. A lifelong resident of Norwalk, he graduated from Norwalk High School in 1953 and enjoyed a long and successful sales career.

Gil had many interests and spent most of his life outdoors - fishing, clamming and oystering, hunting and camping, cooking, traveling, taking photos and volunteering. He especially loved good food and fellowship with his many friends.

Gil was a member of the St. Anne’s Club, The Norwalk Sons of Italy, and the Norwalk Senior Center where, as a dedicated volunteer, he collected food items weekly from local stores for distribution to its members.

He is survived by his loving companion Patricia, his children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews and many friends.

A Memorial Mass for Gil will be held at St. Jerome Church, 23 Half Mile Road, Norwalk, CT at 10 a.m. on Saturday, September 10, 2022.
