Obituary: Frances 'Liz' Basler, 81, Of Norwalk

Frances, also a resident of Virginia, took pride in her organizational and professional skills and retired as a legal secretary in 2015.

Frances "Liz" Basler, 81, of Reston, Va., formerly of Norwalk, Conn., and Warwick, N.Y., passed peacefully into eternal life on Saturday, February 5, 2022, at home with family by her side.

Born in Atlanta, Ga., the daughter of the late Carl and Adele Huth, she was the devoted wife of the late Aloysius S. Basler and a loving mother and grandmother to her family: son Jeffrey Basler of Sarasota, Fla., his wife Karen and their children Annabelle, Andrew, and Alex; and daughter Jennifer Stroik of Reston, Va., her husband Cas, and their daughter Katie.

Frances retired as a legal secretary in 2015. She took pride in her organizational and professional skills. In her free time she enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and quilting. She had a generous heart and marked every occasion with a carefully wrapped gift.

Liz always looked beautiful and dressed impeccably. She had a wonderful sense of humor, very subtle but on point, and was rarely seen without her cheerful smile. She was a good friend to many. A convert to Catholicism, she had a firm faith and trust in God.

Her family will receive friends on Saturday, February 12 from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Ave., Norwalk, CT. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held immediately following the viewing, at 10 a.m. on Saturday, February 12 at St. Matthew Church, 216 Scribner Ave, Norwalk, CT. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery.
