Obituary : Georgios Fotiadis

After arriving in America, Georgios followed the American Dream by working numerous jobs and later retiring form Norwalk Hospital.

Georgios Fotiadis was born on June 10, 1921, in Sosandra, Greece, to Sophia Hazipavlidou and Pavlos Fotiadis.

Georgios served in the Greek National Army during World War II and the Greek Civil War. Years to follow he became a professor of mathematics and later immigrated to the United States of America in 1975. After arriving in America, Georgios followed the American Dream by working numerous jobs and later retiring form Norwalk Hospital.

Georgios is predeceased by his wife, Antigoni OuzounidsFotiadis and survived by his three children, Paul Fotiadis and his wife, Sotiria Roula Stefanidis, Athanasios VinnyFotiadis and Sofia Fotiadis Hatsis and her husband Georgios Hatsis. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Athanasios Hatsis, Dimitrios Hatsis, Eleni Antigoni Hatsisand her partner Emmanuel Arteaga; great-grandchild, Ellie-Sofia Arteaga Hatsis.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 3, 2023, at 11:00 AM at St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 238 West Rocks Rd, Norwalk, CT 06851. A brief visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 AM for family and friends. Interment will follow at the Riverside Cemetery, 81 Riverside Ave, Norwalk, CT.
