Obituary: Jane Staff, 98, Of Norwalk

Jane M. Staff, 98, wife of the late Jack Staff of Norwalk passed away on Wednesday, December 7, 2022.

Born in Norwalk on October 22, 1924, she was the daughter of the late John F. and Mary Curry McMahon.

Jane graduated from Norwalk High School and The College of New Rochelle. She worked in the insurance industry for J.M. Layton for several years and volunteered for Meals On Wheels in her retirement.

Jane was a kind, giving person who enjoyed music, gardening, birdwatching and spending time with her friends and family (but not until she completed the daily New York Times crossword puzzle). Jane will be dearly missed and her memory forever cherished.

Jane is survived by her children Mary Jane McGoldrick (Charles) of Fairfield, Michael Staff and Peter Staff (Karen) of Norwalk and daughter-in-law Lynn Staff of Guilford, 10 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

In addition to Jack, her husband of 37 years, Jane was predeceased by her son John Staff, grandson Kirk Staff and daughter-in-law, Sue Staff.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, December 11, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Collins Funeral Home, 92 East Avenue, Norwalk. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, December 12, at 11 a.m. at St. Philip Church, 1 Father Conlon Place, Norwalk. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery, 223 Richards Avenue, Norwalk.
