Obituary: Joan Restivo Horvath, 89, Of Norwalk

Joan enjoyed a long career at Southern New England Telephone company, then spent many years working in the SNET Phone Center store.

Joan Restivo Horvath, beloved wife of the late Harold “Joe” Horvath, passed away peacefully on October 17, 2023 surrounded by her family, she was 89 years old. She was born on September 4, 1934 in Norwalk to the late Salvatore and Grayce (Mansy) Restivo.

Joan enjoyed a long career at Southern New England Telephone company, working initially as an Operator, and then spent many years working in the SNET Phone Center store. During her retirement years, she and Joe spent many winters in Bradenton Florida spending time with her sister Gloria and other family and friends. She also loved to travel and some of her favorite places to visit were Italy and Ireland.

Joan’s real passion was her family. She took great pride in all of her children, grandchildren & great-grand children and played an integral role in helping raise them all.

Joan is survived by her three children; Jeff Horvath (Lynn), Valerie Hoyt, and Jamie Horvath (Mary). She also leaves behind her grandchildren Rachel, Ryan, Nicole, Kristen, Carly, Sandy, Ashley & Samantha; great grand children Tim, Arianna, Mason, Brianna, Joseph, Kaleb, Rylee, Norah, Chase, Ford, Makenzie; great great grand children, Viviana & Angelina. Joan was pre deceased by her daughter Jody Lynn, her brother Alfred “Sonny” and her sister Gloria.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday October 24, 2023, 10 a.m. at St. Matthews Church 216 Scribner Ave. Norwalk CT followed by a burial at St. John’s cemetery 223 Richards Ave. Norwalk, CT.
