Obituary : John C. Romano

He was a member and the Chairman of the Harbor Commission, as well as constable of Norwalk and was the chairman of district D in the RTC

John C. Romano, 73, of Norwalk CT died after a brief battle with cancer on July 13th 2022.
John was born in Brooklyn, New York, July 31st 1948 John's family moved to
Connecticut in 1952. In 1977, John founded All American Custom Pools and Spas
devoted to residential and commercial swimming pool construction, renovation,
and service. He became a board member of Connecticut Pool and Spa Association,
serving as chapter president for three terms. John joined the board of
directors of The Northeast Spa & Pool Association and served as President
in 1995. He joined the board of directors for the National Spa and Pool
Institute and served as President in 1998. He remained on the NESPA board
finishing over 13 years of National Board participation-unprecedented by any
other member in the history of NSPI/APSP/PHTA. His efforts in the area of
safety, consumer awareness, and education have resulted in significant
legislation, regulations, and codes not only in Connecticut and his region, but
across the US. He had several other business ventures over the years: The Car
Store, Romano Realty, a modular home factory, and most recently The Milford
Sports Bar.

He was a member and the Chairman of the Harbor Commission.
He has been a constable of Norwalk and was the chairman of district D in the
Republican Town Committee. Other business, community and civic groups Romano is
involved with include; N.P.C. (National Plasterers Council), Norwalk Master
Builders Association, Norwalk Connecticut Harbor Commissioner, Connecticut
Justice of the Peace, Norwalk Chamber of Commerce, BBB of Connecticut, Norwalk
Seaport Association, Sons of Italy, St. Ann's Club, Knights of Columbus 3rd
Degree, Trinacria Club (Sicilian/American Club of Boca Raton, Florida), R.T.C.
(Republican Town Committee), as well as other organizations.

He is survived by his wife, Nataliya Romano, and daughter, Nicole
Romano; his former spouse and business partner, Kristrun Romano; their
children, Roberto Romano (Lynda) and Michael Romano (Megan) and granddaughters
Freya and Aila; his daughter Jaye Lutfy and grandson Jean Medina. He is
predeceased by his parents, Roberto and Diana Romano, brother, Robert Romano,
and son, John Romano.

Friends are invited to greet the family on Monday July 18, 2022 from 4:00 until 8:00 pm
in the Raymond Funeral Home, 5 East Wall Street in Historic Norwalk. A Mass of Christian
Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday July 19, 2022 at 11:00 am in St. Jerome
Church, Norwalk. Entombment will follow in St. John’s Mausoleum, Norwalk.
