Joseph J. Balocca, 79, of Norwalk, CT, died peacefully in his sleep at home. Born in the North Bronx, NY, he spent his youth in Demarest, NJ before settling in Norwalk.
Joseph had a strong love of God and loved his family and grandchildren. He was an active parishioner at St. Philp volunteering with the RCIA Team and the food pantry and also served as a Eucharistic Minister. He was also an avid Yankees and Jets fan.

Born to the late Elso and Dorothy (O’Connell) Balocca on North Truro, MA, he is survived by spouse Lynda J. Balocca (nee Bowne) and by son Jay J. Balocca and daughter in law Kim A. Balocca, and by their children Jack C. and Ally C. Balocca of Orange, CT. He was predeceased by his son Matthew G. Balocca but is survived by his children Luke J. and Lilly M. Balocca and Mary A. of Mendon & Sutton, MA, and by daughter in law Laura and former daughter in law Linda. He is also survived by Brother Charles and sister-in-law Susan Balocca, and their children Kevin, Craig, Jim and Jennifer of Trumbull, and by brother Michael G. Balocca and his children Brook, Brittany, Nick and Enzo of Phoenix Oregon.
Friends may call on Monday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Collins Funeral Home, 92 East Avenue, Norwalk, CT. a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10 a.m. at St. Philip Parish, 1 Father Conlon Place, Norwalk, CT.
