Obituary: Josephine Mary Spero, 93, Of Norwalk
A lifelong Norwalk resident, she was a graduate of Norwalk High School and worked as a bookkeeper and bank teller prior to her marriage.

Josephine Mary Spero, 93, passed away on October 5, 2023 at Norwalk Hospital following sudden heart failure.
She was predeceased by her parents, Aurelio and Anna (Pallarino) Schiavone, sister Adelaide Schiavone and husband Patrick Spero. Josephine is survived by daughter Anna Marie and son Anthony Spero, as well as five nieces and nephews and several cousins.

Born January 11, 1930, Josephine was a life-long Norwalk resident. She was a graduate of Norwalk High School and worked as a bookkeeper and bank teller prior to her marriage. She had been a member of the St. Thomas the Apostle church choir, St. Mary’s church choir and their Golden Age group and a member of AARP Chapter 2011 for which she helped her sister compile their monthly newsletter and organize trips.
A devoted wife, mother and homemaker, Josephine also counted fashion design, playing the piano, dancing and bowling among her interests, having won a First Place Wednesday afternoon league trophy in 1985.

Josephine’s family will receive friends on Wednesday, Oct 11, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Ave., Norwalk. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 10 a.m., at St. Mary Church, 669 West Ave, Norwalk, with burial to follow at St. John Cemetery, Norwalk.
