Obituary: Marjorie L. Eckert, 95, Of Norwalk

A devoted member of the Community Baptist Church, she enjoyed donating her time to charitable organizations and being with her family.

Marjorie L. Eckert, 95, of Norwalk, passed away peacefully on Dec. 25, 2022, in Stamford, CT. Born in Conyngham, PA, the daughter of the late Ezra and Cora (Applegate) Jones, she was the wife of the late William Delancy Eckert Sr.

A devoted member of the Community Baptist Church, she enjoyed donating her time to charitable organizations and being with her family.

She is survived by five sons and their (wives): William D. (Holly), Edward S. (Madeleine), Richard A., David M. (Nancy) and James Q. (Melinda), nine cherished grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Marjorie was an angel on earth, offering love, warm hugs and a shoulder to cry on to anyone and everyone who crossed her path. She had a glowing smile that helped fuel the light at the end of every dark tunnel. Her legacy will live on through all who were honored to know her.

Her family will receive friends at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Ave, Norwalk, on Thursday, Dec. 29 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 30 at Community Baptist Church, 105 East Ave, Norwalk, CT 06851.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to: St.Jude Children’s Research Hospital, USO, Boys Town, Covenant House or Bridgeport Rescue Mission.
