Obituary: Michael Horvath, 70; Formerly Of Norwalk
A former lobster fisherman who became a teacher, he taught at Villa Maria in Stamford and later at Brien McMahon HS until his retirement.
STRATFORD, CT — (From Spear-Miller Funeral Home): Michael Horvath, 70, of Stratford and formerly of Norwalk, passed away peacefully on December 24, 2023 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was the son of the late Joseph F. and Jeannette (Roy) Horvath.
Michael grew up in Norwalk and graduated from Brien McMahon HS, class of ’71. He was a lobster fisherman for many years and then went on to become a teacher. He taught at Villa Maria in Stamford and later at Brien McMahon HS until his retirement.
Michael is survived by his sister, MaryBeth Garrison (Wayne), his longtime companion, Donna Harrison, his niece, Heather Goodson (Aaron) and nephew, Cody Studwell, along with great niece and nephews, Aiden, Chloe and Austin, and many cousins and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, December 30, 2023 at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Peace Church, 651 Stratford Rd., Stratford. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Michael’s memory to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
