Obituary: Phyllis Lois Stratton, 82, Of Norwalk

Phyllis Lois Stratton, 82, of Norwalk, died on January 7, 2024 at Norwalk Hospital.

Born on October 4, 1942 in Springdale, CT, the daughter of Lawrence and Sadie (Eike) Ede, she was predeceased by her husband Paul Stratton. She is survived by her sons Brian and his wife Susan, Michael and his wife Susan, her daughter Susan Laramie, and two cherished grandchildren Molly and Austin Laramie, as well as her sister Shirley McRedmond. She was predeceased by her brothers Roger and Pepper.

Phyllis worked as a secretary for MBI and then helped manage her husband’s company, Carnegie Tool. She loved gardening, animals, bird watching, and spending time with her family. Her artistic talent adorned the walls of her home and those of her family, a true testament to her creative spirit. She used her artistic gifts to help others while volunteering with the Resources Unlimited Program for artists with disabilities in Darien. Additionally, she had a green thumb and delighted in cultivating vibrant flower and vegetable gardens. Phyllis’ gardens were a reflection of her nurturing and tender nature.

Her family will receive friends on Saturday, January 20 from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Ave., Norwalk, with a prayer service to begin at 12:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (StJude.org).
