Obituary: Robert C. Wagman, 92, Of Norwalk
Bob moved to Norwalk at 6 months old and was a lifelong resident until he moved to Manhattan in 2018.

Robert C. Wagman, beloved husband of 57 years to Fira, adored father, grandfather, uncle and friend, died peacefully at home on July 5, 2022, surrounded by his family.
Born in Brooklyn, NY on May 18, 1930, Bob moved to Norwalk at 6 months old and was a lifelong resident until he moved to Manhattan in 2018. After graduating Norwalk High School in 1948, Bob studied mechanical engineering at the University of Connecticut and graduated in 1952.

Bob spent 36 years of his engineering career at Textron Lycoming, rising to Director of Turbine Engines. After his retirement, he spent the next 25 years devoting his time to community service, as a mentor in the Norwalk School system, a guide at the Maritime Center, a volunteer at Norwalk Hospital and he was instrumental in forming a 3 town coalition to protect the environment around the Norwalk River.
In 1964, Bob met and married his lifelong love and partner, Fira. Together they built a life centered around Norwalk.

Bob traveled the world, visiting all 7 continents and loved nothing more than having a drink with a stranger and turning them into a friend.
Bob was the guy everyone came to for help and the guy everyone relied on. He is survived by his wife Fira, his children Matthew and Jennifer, his daughter-in-law Meera, his grandchildren Sam and Lily and broken hearted, nephews, nieces and friends.
Services will be held at Collins Funeral Home at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 8th with internment at Beth El Cemetery. The family will be sitting Shiva in Manhattan on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
