Norwalk Italian Restaurant Announces Closure After Nearly 30 Years (patch.com) — Longtime Norwalk favorite Pasquale's Osteria on Main Street will close next week after nearly three decades, as chef-owner Pasquale Poccia retires. The restaurant, cherished as a neighborhood gathering spot since 1997, thanked Norwalk patrons for years of support and memories while Poccia looks forward to spending more time with family in Italy and the U.S.
   

2. Norwalk Public Library To Offer Long-Term Laptop Loans (patch.com) — Norwalk residents who meet income-related criteria can soon borrow Dell Pro 16 laptops from the Norwalk Public Library for six months at a time, starting Oct. 5. The program, part of a statewide digital equity effort, targets adults living in Norwalk with library cards and participation in qualifying assistance programs, expanding access to online work, education and telehealth.

Norwalk elementary progress reports get a big change this fall (nancyonnorwalk.com) — Norwalk elementary families will see redesigned progress reports starting with November conferences, replacing the old 1–4 scoring system with clearer skill-based descriptions like "beginning" and "consistently progressing." District leaders say the new format, created with teachers and principals, should make it easier for Norwalk parents to understand current performance and support learning at home.

Connecticut boat owners urged to secure vessels ahead of weekend nor'easter (ctpost.com) — Norwalk residents planning to visit the Norwalk Boat Show can expect it to stay open rain or shine this weekend, even as a strong nor'easter approaches. Officials urge local boat owners to secure vessels, monitor forecasts, and prepare marinas carefully, as gale-force winds, high seas, and tidal surge could still disrupt on-water activities and demos.
