What is your occupation?

Nine years as Emergency Preparedness Coordinator for the Norwalk Health Dept.

Do you have a family? If so, please tell us about them.

I have been married to my wife Ann for 49 years. We have four children and nine grandchildren.

Does anyone in your family work in politics or government?

No.

Have you ever held a public office, whether appointive or elective?

Yes, Common Council at Large, 1 term and Board of Education, 1 term.

Now we'd like to ask a few questions about your reasons for running and your general views on politics and government. First, why are you seeking this office?

We need a balanced government, not just one party rule. Also, the zoning up.

Please complete this statement: The single most pressing issue facing my constituents is ___, and this is what I intend to do about it.

Rising taxes.

What are the major differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?

We need to slow down the development of Norwalk. The up zoning will destroy our neighborhoods and the illegal apartments are out of control.

If you are challenging an incumbent, in what way has the current officeholder failed the community?

Over development. Taxes rising.

What other issues do you intend to address during your campaign?

As the former Fire Marshal of the city, I am concerned about the safety of the people on Norwalk. All of the illegal apartments are a concern and the many apartments that have been built have to be inspected by the Fire Marshal's Office. There is a need for more personnel to conduct these inspections along with all of the other occupancies.

What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?

I have been a Norwalk resident my whole life. I have been president in many organization such as the Norwalk Rotary Club, Norwalk High School Alumni Association, Norwalk Historical Society, Norwalk High School Marching Bears Inc.

What is the best advice anyone ever gave you?

Always remember where you are from.

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about yourself and your positions?

We have to control spending. Quality of life- infrastructure and traffic.
