NORWALK, CT — Police shared a message this week for residents about unpermitted solicitors in Norwalk.
In a Facebook post, police said solicitors must apply to the police department first, then a background check is completed.
If approved, each solicitor is issued a photo ID badge that must be worn while in the process of solicitation, according to police.

Soliciting is permitted seven days a week between the hours of 9 a.m. and dusk, police said.
A solicitor permit does not allow entry to any premises that has postings that restrict public access, such as no trespassing or no solicitation, according to police.

Police also noted the department is taking notice and will be taking actions to enforce code in Norwalk.
