Road Closures Announced For Norwalk Memorial Day Parades: PD
Temporary road closures have been announced for two upcoming Memorial Day weekend parades in Norwalk.
NORWALK, CT — The Norwalk Police Department has announced temporary road closures for two upcoming Memorial Day weekend parades.
Norwalk Memorial Day Parade (May 25, 2026)
A temporary road closure is set to take place along the Memorial Day parade route Monday from 9:30 a.m. to approximately 12:30 p.m., according to police.

The annual parade starts at Veterans Park in East Norwalk, proceeds east on Van Zant Street, then north on East Avenue and concludes at the Norwalk Green, police said.
Van Zant Street, East Avenue (south of Route 1) and the northbound and southbound ramps at Exit 16 of I-95 will be closed to all traffic from 9:30 a.m. to approximately 12:30 p.m., police said.

According to police, this closure will allow the parade to proceed safely to the Norwalk Green.
Variable message signs along I-95 and at the Exit 16 ramps will notify drivers of the exit closure, police said.
All other I-95 exits in Norwalk will remain open during the parade, according to police.
Rowayton Memorial Day Parade (May 24, 2026)
The Rowayton Memorial Day Parade is scheduled to be held Sunday from noon to 1:30 p.m., according to police.
Police said the following streets will be closed during the parade:
- Highland Avenue from Wilson Avenue to McKinley Street.
- McKinley Street from Highland Avenue to Rowayton Avenue.
- Rowayton Avenue from McKinley Street to Witch Lane.
According to police, Route 136 will be detoured from Rowayton Avenue onto Witch Lane, then onto Crest Road and finally onto Wilson Avenue.
"This will be the same route in reverse for motorists traveling from Wilson Avenue toward Rowayton Avenue," police said in a news release.
Drivers are urged to avoid this area during the parade, police said.
