Second Norwalk Person Dies Of Injuries In I-95 Crash In Darien
A total of five young people were in the vehicle at the time of the one-car crash early Sunday.
NORWALK, CT — A second Norwalk resident has died as a result of injuries sustained in the fatal one-car crash on I-95 in Darien that already took the life of a 19-year-old and left three others with serious injuries, Connecticut State Police confirmed to Patch Wednesday morning.
Chase Ortiz, 19, died Tuesday night. Norwalk resident Victor Emanuel Deleon, also 19, was pronounced dead at the scene of Sunday's crash.
Three other people, also from Norwalk, suffered serious injuries in the crash, which happened at about 6:30 a.m. They are the driver, Indira S. Rivera, 19; Julius C. Beau, 20; and Jordan A. Palmer, also 20.

According to state police, the crash occurred when the 2007 Volkswagen Passat that Rivera was driving northbound "veered off the road to the right for an unknown reason" and the struck a tree between exits 9 and 10.
The crash remains under investigation, and state police did not release any additional new information on Wednesday.
