Serving Up National Hot Chocolate Day

Chocopologie, SoNo’s world renowned chocolatier, is promoting National Hot Chocolate Day on February 28. Who knew there was such a day? It turns out that there’s a mystery afoot on exactly which day is national hot chocolate day. A few minutes on the Internet quickly starts the adventure of figuring out who is the authoritative body that declares such days. 

From the presidential proclamation world, February is Black history month. But it is also, according to many websites, National Chocolate Month (not to mention, Canned Food Month, National Grapefruit Month, Creative Romance Month and National Cherry Month). Some time ago, someone must have come up with the idea of a national chocolate month, just as someone, the National Confectioners Association must have come up with National Gum Drops Day (February 15) and National Chocolate Mint Day (February 19) and someone else with National Cream Filled Chocolates Day (February 14) and Peppermint Patties Day (February 11). But just like a snowflake, no two Web sites listing national chocolate-related days are alike.
