The SoNo Collection Opens, Fairfield County's Newest Mall
While a lot of stores were not yet open on Friday, shoppers still checked out what was there.
NORWALK, CT — The SoNo Collection, Fairfield County's newest mall, opened its doors on Friday, and while shoppers were not flooding the facility in the morning, there were a steady stream of curious customers throughout the day.
The mall aims to attract shoppers with a mix of "art, culture and community" in addition to a staple of familiar mall stores and food options.
Seventeen stores were open on Friday, according to Lindsay Kahn, a public relations representative for Brookfield Properties, which developed the mall. The open stores included UNTUCKit, White House Black Market, Abercrombie & Fitch, Bath & BodyWorks, Casper, Sephora, Lush Cosmetics, J.Jill, Chico's, Nordstrom, Kay Jewelers and Pandora.

The clothing store Zara, for example, is expected to open "in a few days," and Bloomingdale's will open on Nov. 14, Matt Seebeck, the mall's senior general manager, told Patch.
While some malls around the country have struggled in recent years, Seekbeck is bullish on the prospects for The SoNo Collection, which he sees as an important part of the community.
"This is really in a great location for all of southwestern Connecticut," Seebeck said of the mall, which is right off exit 15 of I-95 and visible from the thruway. "It's all about how we build this space within the community and become an integral part of it."
