Sound Renovation LLC Donates to Human Services Council

The $5,300 donation will provide HSC improvements to the interior of the building.

From Sound Renovation LLC: The Human Services Council (HSC) is the proud recipient of a $5,300 donation from Sound Renovation, LLC of Norwalk. Owner Jim DePasquale’s donation will provide HSC some much needed improvements to the interior of the building. HSC plans on painting the entire second floor of the building and a portion of Jim’s donation will also go to the Norwalk Mentor Program. The Norwalk Mentor Program matches at-risk students in Norwalk’s 19 public schools with an adult mentor. They meet one hour per week at the child’s school. Mentors provide guidance, support and encouragement to help develop the character of the mentee. Mentors are sometimes the only adult role model in a child’s life.

Jim DePasquale has been a friend to HSC for several years. As past president and current member of The Norwalk Exchange Club, Jim has been instrumental in securing funding for the Children’s Connection, another program of the Human Services Council. Program Director of Children’s Connection, Kari Pesavento: “The Norwalk Exchange Club has been so generous to the Children’s Connection over the past 10 years and they have made our valuable services possible for the children we serve.” As one of only eight fully accredited Children’s Advocacy Centers (CAC) in the state, Children’s Connection provides a comfortable, private, child-friendly setting that is both physically and emotionally safe for children of all ages. The purpose of a CAC is to coordinate a collaborative multidisciplinary response to allegations of child sexual and severe physical abuse.

In addition to funding the inside improvements, Jim (Sound Renovation LLC) was contracted this past summer to put new siding on HSC’s One Park Street building (photo below). HSC was the recipient of tax credit funding via several local businesses to make these outside improvements. “We are proud to partner with Jim and grateful for his ongoing support of our agency”, said Anthony DiLauro, Executive Director of HSC. “Creating strong relationships in the community strengthen our connection with families living in the Greater Norwalk area. This support ensures that our agency can continue to help others. Jim and his company are the perfect example of collaboration that benefits so many.” We are grateful to Jim, Sound Renovation LLC and his crew of professionals for their dedication to making HSC a beautiful place to work!” Visit http://soundrenovationllc.com/ or call Jim DePasquale at 203-838-2128
