NORWALK, CT — Taco Guy, a new restaurant featuring authentic Mexican recipes made with modern techniques, officially opened its doors to customers last week.

Located at 102 Wall Street, the former location of the Wall Street Tavern, owner Adrian Hurtado said he and his team were excited to welcome guests to the restaurant after months of carefully crafting the space and officially join the Wall Street community.

Hurtado also operates a Taco Guy food truck out of Norwalk. With the new restaurant, he hopes to create a warm, welcoming and elegant atmosphere for guests, with a large bar as its heartbeat, while still offering fans of his food truck everything they love about Taco Guy.

"We've loved sharing our tacos with guests on the truck, but we're really excited to grow," Hurtado said in an email to Patch. "With our beautiful new bar, we are creating delicious cocktails with unique Mexican spirits. We have curated an exciting selection of mezcals and tequilas, as well as Mexican gins and whiskeys. We are also working on bringing some really cool natural Mexican wines to the menu."

While the restaurant will offer traditional favorites such as tacos and margaritas, Hurtado said he is most excited to show guests how much more Mexican cuisine and culture has to offer.

"Whether it's a big celebration or casual weeknight dinner, let us be your destination for tacos, margaritas and so much more," Hurtado said.

Hurtado comes from four generations of taqueros, or taco makers, and has worked alongside his parents at their family restaurant, Super Taqueria Las Salsas in Bridgeport, for a number of years.

"I hope to combine that legacy with my time at some of the best restaurants and bars in New York City to show Connecticut the beauty of modern Mexican cuisine and culture," Hurtado told Patch in February.

Opening at 102 Wall Street is also a homecoming of sorts for Hurtado, who began his career making pizzas at Bar Sugo, which occupied the space before the Wall Street Tavern moved in.

"Returning to the same location to open my restaurant," Hurtado said, "with recipes that my great-great grandfather used, feels meant to be."

Hurtado also teased upcoming special events such as pop ups and live music. He also encouraged customers to stay up to date on all things Taco Guy by following them on Instagram.

According to their website, Taco Guy food truck offers a selection of tacos, including carnitas, pork belly and chicken tinga, as well as items such as gorditas, guacamole and tlayudas.

Cocktails include a variety of margaritas, including spicy and strawberry royal, and other themed beverages such as a pear cobbler and a mezcal mule.
