UConn Student from Norwalk Died of an Overdose: Medical Examiner

STORRS, CT —A University of Connecticut student from Norwalk who was found unresponsive in a campus housing unit last month died from a drug overdose, the chief medical examiner's office said Thursday.

The death of freshman Sean Sullivan, of Norwalk, was an accident, according to an autopsy report.
Fentanyl was the most dangerous drug in his system, according to the report. But he died from an "acute intoxication" from the combined effects of fentanyl, doxylamine, alprazolam, diphenhydramine, and amphetamine, according to the report.

UConn officials declined comment, citing an ongoing investigation.

UConn Police were called to Grange Hall shortly before noon on Oct. 3 on a report that a student, later identified as Sullivan, was discovered unresponsive in his room, university officials said.
Medics tried unsuccessfully to revive him, officials said.

There were "no indications of criminal involvement," UConn officials said.
