• Norwich Council Approves Affordable Housing Tax Abatement, December Property Auction (patch.com) — Norwich residents face big changes after the City Council approved a new tax abatement program to spur rehabilitation of low- and moderate-income housing and set a Dec. 4 auction for dozens of city-owned properties. Councilors also backed transferring nearly 39 acres of local open space to Avalonia Land Conservancy and reported on recent Human Services and Senior Center assistance to Norwich households.
   

• Pray With the World: The World Mission Rosary Comes to Norwich (norwichdiocese.org) — Catholics in and around Norwich are invited to join a special World Mission Rosary devotion throughout October, with daily 3 p.m. prayers encouraged across the Diocese of Norwich. A focal event is planned for Friday, Oct. 9, at 3 p.m. at the Cathedral of St. Patrick on Broadway, with both in-person participation and a livestream option available.
