Man Shot In Head At Central Avenue Gas Station: Norwich Police

NORWICH, CT — A man was shot in the head at a Norwich gas station early Tuesday morning, according to police. Police were called to William Backus Hospital at 12:35 a.m. on a report of a man with a gunshot wound.

Police determined the shooting occurred at the Ravi Mart at 243 Central Ave. The victim was in a vehicle at the gas pumps when an older model gray Jeep Cherokee captured on Norwich Public Safety Cameras arrived at the station. At least one person in the Jeep fired several rounds, then sped away, according to police.

The attack is believed to be targeted and not random. The victim is in stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries.

The investigation remains open and ongoing.
