Norwich Man Clocked Doing Over 120 MPH On Route 2: Police

Police say a Norwich man is accused of going over 120 mph while following other vehicles too closely and passing on the right.

NORWICH, CT — A Norwich man was arrested after state police say he drove over 120 mph on Route 2 in Bozrah.

A trooper was conducting speed enforcement on Route 2 eastbound Sunday at 6:52 p.m. The trooper spotted a silver Range Rover speeding. The trooper clocked the SUV going speeds of over 120 mph.

The driver was also "driving aggressively as the vehicle was observed following other vehicles too closely and passing on the right," according to an arrest report.

The trooper put on their cruiser's emergency lights and siren to conduct a traffic stop. The Range Rover's driver complied and came to a stop.

The driver was identified as a 22-year-old Norwich man.

He was charged with reckless driving and scheduled to appear in court Oct. 29.
