Norwich Man Faces Burglary, Strangulation Charges: Police

NORWICH, CT — A man is facing numerous charges linked to a burglary last week, according to police. Police responded at 12:57 a.m., Feb. 21 on a report of a possible home invasion in Norwich.

Police developed a suspect, David Baez, who had fled the scene on foot. A warrant was issued for his arrest.

Police received information Baez was in the area of Best Way Fuel on Route 82 in Bozrah on Friday morning. Police identified Baez walking on the road's shoulder.

Baez was arrested and found with fentanyl and two knives on him, according to police. He was charged with first-degree burglary, fifth-degree larceny, second-degree strangulation, third-degree assault, disorderly conduct, unlawful restraint, second-degree threatening, possession of narcotics, and interfering with an officer.

Baez was held on a $115,000 cash-surety bond.
