• New Highway Speed Camera Language Nixed From CT Transportation Bill (lymeline.com) — Old Lyme officials are actively exploring whether to install automated speed cameras, even as state lawmakers just stripped a broader highway speed camera pilot from a transportation bill. The measure, which still covers many transportation issues, passed the House and now awaits Senate action, while existing work-zone cameras and municipal programs elsewhere in Connecticut continue to expand. 
• Eastern CT cities welcome windfall in new state aid money (theday.com) — Old Lyme is set to receive nearly $18,000 in town aid and about $60,000 for its schools as part of a major boost in state funding for Eastern Connecticut communities. Local leaders across the region say the one-time windfall could ease tax pressures, support hiring, and help close school budget gaps, though they caution it can’t be counted on in future years.
