15 Safest, Most Dangerous Towns in CT

After a brief hiatus Patch is bringing together each factor from our data series on crime and safety to rank the safest and most dangerous towns in Connecticut.

To make a definitive ranking, we’ve taken crime statistics from each town — counted once for population (crimes per 1,000 people) and again by density (crimes per 100 people per square mile); the years of potential life lost due to residents dying before 75; and the safety of cyclists and pedestrians.

The final scores ranged from 73.77 to 340.14, with a lower score denoting a safer community. The 15 safest towns are listed in the slideshow below and the 15 most dangerous towns can be found in the list below.
