Argument Inside Car Escalates with Punch Thrown by the Side of the Road: Orange Police

Police say two men were arguing in a vehicle and then they got out and began to fight and a punch was thrown.

ORANGE, CT — An argument inside a vehicle escalated with two men getting out of their vehicle and fighting in the road, Orange police said.

Officers were dispatched to Route 34 for a reported disturbance occurring along the roadway last month, police said.

Officers learned that Louis Velez, 50, of New York City, and a family member had gotten into an argument inside a vehicle while driving along Route 34, police said.

The argument caused the driver to pull over to the side of the road, and the arrestee got out of the vehicle, followed by the family member, police said.

They argued at the side of the road, and eventually the argument turned physical, police said. Velez struck the other person, causing injury, police said. He was subsequently taken into custody and charged with third-degree assault and second-degree breach of peace.

He was initially held in lieu of a $10,000 bond.
