Orange and East Haven Police Believe Bank Robberies Connected: UPDATE

BREAKING: Police are asking the public for assistance in solving the bank robbery.

UPDATE: The East Haven Police Department is working with the Orange Police Department regarding the attempted bank robbery/ bank robbery that took place in their respective towns, police said. It is believed that the two incidents are connected, police said. A bank in East Haven was also robbed on Monday. See that story here.


ORANGE, CT — Orange Police are searching for the man who robbed the Webster Bank at 247 Boston Post Road on Monday morning. Police responded to the bank around 11 a.m. Monday.

Police said the suspect is a Black or Hispanic male wearing jeans, a baseball cap, and a light colored shirt and he approached a teller and demanded money. He did not display or imply a weapon, police said.

He left the bank with an undetermined amount of money and fled on foot in a westerly direction toward the Firelight plaza, police said.

The Orange Police Department is requesting assistance from the public in identifying the perpetrator who is pictured in the surveillance photos accompanying this release. Anyone with any information is asked to contact Detective Sean Murphy at 203.891.2138 or via email at smurphy@orange-ct.gov.
