Milford’s Annual Juneteenth celebration will be held on Milford’s Green from 1 - 4pm on Saturday June 20th. It directly follows the Milford 250 Parade which wends its way to Downtown Milford beginning at 11am.
This year’s celebration will feature entertainers, artists, musicians and local business vendors selling products and services with global Afro-Caribbean themes. Locke’s Caribbean Kitchen Restaurant and Paradise Island Food will provide hot meals for purchase.
A special feature of the celebration is “Literacy Juneteenth,” which showcases Read Alouds of works by Black authors and a book giveaway of hundreds of books for children and adults authored by writers of Black, Brown, Indigenous and Asian descent.
Juneteenth sponsors are Beth-El Center, Mary Taylor Memorial United Methodist Church, Milford Regional Chamber of Commerce, All In for Milford, Milford Historical Society, Milford Arts Council and the City of Milford.
