Where Does all that Candy go?
If you’ve been following the annual Halloween Candy Buy Back community event Dental Associates of Connecticut has been hosting at its Danbury, Newtown, New Milford and Shelton offices for the last 13 years, you probably already know that close to five tons of candy has been collected over the years. That’s a lot of candy of course, but even more impressive is the $4,000 Dental Associates has given local trick-or-treaters in exchange for their cavity-friendly candy.
Once again this year, on Tuesday November 3rd, Dental Associates will “buy back” Halloween candy at its four location for $2.00 per pound for qualifying candy - nothing unwrapped or loose please.
But where does all of this repurchased candy end up? No, the Dental Associates dentists don’t eat it all themselves. The candy, along with dental care packages gets donated to our troops overseas through Operation Gratitude, and to Give The Kids The World Village organization, providing a little comfort for children with life-threatening illnesses.
