Cops: 74-Year-Old Man Arrested for DUI in Monroe Thought He Was in New York

A caller reported seeing a white Chevy pick-up truck crash into a stone wall and fleeing the scene.

A New York man was arrested for driving under the influence after police say he was involved in a single vehicle crash at the intersection of Stanley Road and Judd Road.

Police received a report of the crash on May 2 at around 10 p.m. According to police, the complainant said that a white Chevy pick-up struck a stone wall and a telephone pole and subsequently left the scene.

Officers on patrol located the truck traveling in an erratic manner northbound on Route 25 near Bart Center.

James Graham, 74, of Huntington Station, New York was the operator and lone occupant of the vehicle. The truck had fresh damage consistent with being in an accident, police said.

Officers detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from Graham who was confused, believing he was two blocks from his house in New York, police said.

Graham failed standardized field sobriety tests and was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, evading responsibility and failure to drive in the proper lane.

According to police, his BAC was revealed to be .231.

He was given a $500 bond and a court date of May 12.
