Forum on Breast Cancer Detection and Treatment to be Held in New Haven

The forum will feature several renowned doctors and researchers as well as U.S. Rep. Rosa DeLauro, who is a ovarian cancer survivor.

Several leading breast cancer experts and U.S. Rep. Rosa DeLauro will take part in a Oct. 21 forum on the latest successes and challenges in breast cancer detection and treatment.

The forum is organized by the Connecticut Health I-Team (C-HIT), a non-profit news service that focuses on health and safety topics. Its work is circulated through 16 state media partners.

“Every week, it seems, a new study comes out about mammography or genetic testing or preventative care,” said Lynne DeLucia, co-founder of C-HIT. “As journalists, we try to keep up, highlighting what we think are the most important breakthroughs. But as women, all the information can be overwhelming! The forum is our attempt to bring people together to sort through some of the clutter and look ahead to what’s on the horizon in breast cancer research and treatment.”
