Fundraiser Started For Teen Seriously Injured In Crash
An Orange teen faces a long road to recovery after being hit by a car while walking home near Boston Post Road.

ORANGE, CT — An Orange woman faces a long road to recovery after she was struck by a car while walking home. A fundraiser was established to help with medical expenses.
Chance Thompson, 19, was walking home when she was struck by a car near Racebrook Road and Boston Post Road in Orange Thursday.
Her injuries include a broken arm, leg, pelvis, shoulder and orbital bone, according to a GoFundMe established to help with medical expenses. She also dislocated her hip and needed a portion of her skull removed due to brain swelling.

Thompson will need six months to a year of intense physical therapy after she is able to get off a breathing tube, her mother, Misty Thompson, wrote on GoFundMe. She will also need to be in a neck collar for another six to eight weeks due to ligament damage.
Thompson recently completed her freshman year at Eastern Connecticut State University.

So far, the GoFundMe has raised more than $12,000 of its $20,000 goal.
