Potential Buyer Emerges For Orange Manufacturer: Update

Several dozen workers were slated to lose their jobs, but a significant number of those jobs might be saved.

ORANGE, CT — Valley Tool & Manufacturing Inc. in Orange reportedly was scheduled to close its doors in June, which would have resulted in 65 employees losing their jobs.

But now a potential buyer has emerged, which could mean a significant number of those jobs might be saved.

The Prindle Hill Road company manufactures components for the aerospace and defense contractors, and is closing due to “unforeseeable economic circumstances,” according to the company's President Larry Feinn, in a report in the New Haven Register.

But the Connecticut Post reports that Kansas-based Harlow Aerostructures is looking to buy the company and keep a substantial number of the company's employees.

Valley Tool and Manufacturing is owned by New York City-based private equity firm Corinthian Capital.
