Michelin-Recommended Restaurant To Open In Former TGI Friday's Spot In Orange
A heralded and expanding restaurant is planning a second location in Connecticut.
ORANGE, CT — Nan Xiang Soup Dumplings will open a location in Orange at the former TGI Friday's location. The new restaurant at 348 Boston Post Road is listed as "coming soon" on Nan Xiang's website.
The restaurant currently has locations in New York, Delaware Maryland, and Pennsylvania. Nan Xiang's lone restaurant in Connecticut is in the Stamford Town Center mall, which opened last year, according to The Connecticut Scoop.
The expansion isn't limited to Orange with a total of nine restaurants planned in six states.

Nan Xiang said its mission is "to craft the finest soup dumplings, bringing warmth and comfort to each customer and community we serve." The restaurant is Michelin-recommended and has received numerous accolades.
Notable dishes include dumplings filled with pork, crab, chicken, truffle, and shrimp, which are served in a broth. The restaurant, known for its authenticity, serves a number of other hot and cold Chinese dishes.

Once-popular franchise TGI Friday's closed its Orange location in 2024. The chain also closed restaurants in Manchester and Waterbury that year, its last remaining in the state.
