Stranger Enters Occupied Home, Escorted Out, Breaks Back In: Police
Orange police say a mother and daughter were charged in a unique break-in that involved the homeowners escorting a suspect out of the house.
Orange police say officers responded to a private residence in the 900 block of Orange Center Road after receiving a 911 call from the homeowners around 11:20 a.m. Thursday about a person they did not know who entered their home.
At first, this person later identified as Peggy Curtiss, 35, of East Main Street in Bridgeport, walked through an unlocked door and started walking around the house, police said. She was escorted outside by the homeowners, but then allegedly attempted to force her way back in, police said.
When the homeowners would not let her come inside again Curtiss allegedly picked up a decoration from the front lawn, used it to break a window, and crawled in, police said. The homeowners left the house at that point. The complainants suffered no physical harm during this incident.
