Unlocked Vehicles Remain A Target For Thieves, Orange PD Warns

"We want to continue to remind our residents to make sure you LOCK your motor vehicles at night."

ORANGE, CT — Like other Connecticut communities, Orange is grappling with a rash of stolen and/or burglarized vehicles throughout town, and the Orange Police Department is issuing a warning to residents to be careful.

An undisclosed number of vehicle break-ins occurred during the overnight hours between Tuesday and Wednesday in the northern part of town, according to police.

"The Town of Orange, as well as other neighboring communities, continue to experience overnight thefts of items from unlocked motor vehicles and the actual theft of motor vehicles that had the keys left in them," officials wrote on Facebook Wednesday.
