ORANGE, CT — A Guilford woman is under arrest after a 10-year-old child crashed a car into a building in Orange while the woman was inside a massage business, police said.
Officers responded to the parking lot of 400 Boston Post Road on Oct. 1 for a car versus building motor vehicle accident, police said.
Officers learned that Rise Burrow, 36, of Guilford and a 10-year-old child had visited the massage center at that location, police said.

Burrow was still inside the massage center when the child requested to wait in the car, police said. Burrow allowed the child to do so, and provided the keys to the vehicle, police said.
While inside the vehicle, the child started it up, put it into reverse, and then exited the vehicle when it began moving, police said.

The vehicle left its parking spot, jumped the curb, and backed into the FedEx building in the same plaza, police said. No one was injured. The building received slight structural damage but was not compromised, police said.

Burrow was taken into custody and charged with risk of injury to a child and child under 12 left alone in a motor vehicle.
She was released after posting a $5,000 bond.
