Mark Camphouse composed “Symphony from Ivy Green for Soprano and Wind Orchestra,” a six-movement setting of the inspiring writings of Helen Keller, for soprano voice. Featuring Janna Baty, Assistant Professor of Music at the Yale School of Music, soprano.

“Aegean Festival Overture” reflects the Greek origin of its composer, Andreas Makris. With its opening driving energy and subsequent lyric plaintiveness, this piece epitomizes Makris’ musical style – a blend of classical form and Greek folkloristic elements.

The title “Hymn for World Peace” came from composer David Maslanka’s simple idea that if we want world peace, we can begin as individuals to ask for it. This gorgeous work was premiered in May 2015.

Joaquin Rodrigo’sAdagio for Wind Orchestra” creates a Spanish ambiance – evocative harmonies and fanciful tunes instill in listeners the flair and melancholy inherent in Spanish folk music.

“Resonances I” is a “surround” piece in which composer Ron Nelson positions the trumpets and trombones around the hall or in the balcony, with the remaining performers onstage, resulting in the audience’s complete immersion in the varying textures of the piece.
